Position Overview

The Project Manager leads, directs, and coordinates all aspects of day-to-day project execution from preconstruction through closeout. This role is responsible for managing project teams, maintaining client relationships, overseeing budgets and schedules, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality construction projects. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, capable of balancing project demands while building a culture of collaboration and performance.

Regular travel to job sites and customer locations (2–3 times per month) is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Field Operations: Serve as the primary on-site liaison between ownership, architects, engineers, and subcontractors. Oversee all field construction activities, ensuring seamless coordination and clear communication across all stakeholders.
  • Drive Project Execution: Manage all phases of project delivery, from preconstruction through closeout. Ensure work is completed on time, within budget, and in alignment with contract documents and company standards.
  • Manage Project Teams: Build and lead high-performing teams by setting clear expectations, providing regular coaching, and conducting performance reviews. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain Client Relationships: Act as the client’s trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle. Develop and maintain strong relationships through proactive communication, transparency, and a commitment to quality.
  • Control Project Budget & Forecasting: Oversee project budgets, monitor cost reports, and implement corrective actions as needed. Lead the monthly Pay Application process and ensure timely payments in coordination with finance.
  • Coordinate Scheduling & Logistics: Develop, update, and manage the master project schedule. Identify critical path activities and coordinate labor, materials, and subcontractors to ensure schedule adherence.
  • Enforce Safety & Quality Standards: Promote and enforce job site safety in accordance with company and regulatory standards. Oversee quality control processes to ensure work meets design intent and project specifications.
  • Lead Risk & Contract Management: Identify potential risks early and implement mitigation strategies. Support contract negotiations, scope reviews, and subcontractor buyout in alignment with project goals.
  • Support Field Engineering & Technical Processes: Provide guidance on construction methods, technical challenges, and field engineering needs. Ensure project documentation and shop drawings are reviewed and approved as needed.
  • Champion Innovation & Technology: Promote the use of new technologies, sustainable practices, and process improvements to maintain 3CI’s competitive advantage and drive operational efficiency.
  • Represent 3CI in the Community: Support company outreach and engagement initiatives to strengthen community relationships and enhance the company’s public presence.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as needed. 

Physical Demands

  • Navigate active construction sites, including climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolding
  • Work at heights and in confined spaces when necessary
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Maintain visual and auditory awareness of site hazards (e.g., alarms, machinery)
  • Stand, stoop, crouch, and walk for extended periods

Work Environment

  • Office setting and field-based on active construction sites
  • Regular exposure to weather elements, loud noise, moving machinery, and airborne particles
  • Must be comfortable working in high-risk and high-intensity environments
  • Appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required and provided

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5–10 years of progressive experience in project management within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes including estimating, scheduling, budgeting, contract administration, and quality assurance.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and advanced presentation skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, contracts, specifications, and schedules.
  • Proven leadership and team development skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 2–3 times per month for multi-day site visits and meetings.
