About the Role
The Concrete Finisher is responsible for placing, smoothing, and finishing concrete surfaces for industrial and heavy civil construction projects. This role ensures proper surface texture, level, and durability through the use of hand tools, power tools, and finishing techniques while adhering to project specifications and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Spread, level, and smooth freshly poured concrete using rakes, shovels, and straightedges.
- Finish concrete surfaces using hand tools (trowels, floats, edgers) and power tools (power trowels, grinders).
- Apply curing compounds, sealers, or surface treatments as specified.
- Install expansion joints, edges, and other finishing details.
- Monitor surface quality to ensure proper grade, texture, and finish.
- Read and follow construction drawings, mix specifications, and project plans.
- Repair and patch concrete surfaces when necessary.
- Follow OSHA and company safety requirements at all times.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of experience as a concrete finisher in industrial or heavy civil construction.
- Knowledge of concrete properties, tools, and finishing methods.
- Ability to read drawings, take measurements, and work with precision.
- Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs., kneel, bend, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Reliable transportation required.
