Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Window and Door Purchasing Specialist to join our Procurement team. This full-time role is essential to managing the increasing complexity and volume of window and door products used in our off-site construction projects. You will be responsible for selecting, purchasing, and verifying glazing solutions that align with architectural specifications and product requirements. This is a systems-based position designed to ensure continuity and support across the team, especially during absences or high-demand periods.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain current product and vendor information
- Price products using manufacturer software (e.g., Unilux UPE, Marvin pricing tool) and vendor catalogs
- Verify unit counts and specifications
- Place orders using vendor systems, Sage, FileMaker, and CAD (read-only).
- Track orders and update relevant systems
- Receive products and process associated paperwork
- Provide technical support to design, production, contractors, and clients regarding:
- Glazing specifications
- Frame materials
- Hardware and accessories
- Detailing
- Coordinate warranty and service work, including claim research and training
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Technical understanding of window and door hardware
- Product scope includes:
- Exterior windows and doors (Unilux OEM, Marvin, Logic, Thermatru, Masonite, Rogue Valley)
- Fastening and operational hardware (locking systems, tilt-turn, lift-slide, digital locks)
- Window accessories (sills, insect screens, shading solutions, motorized operators)
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet software
- Ability to read construction plans and technical drawings
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Follows company safety policies and procedures including wearing personal protective equipment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the construction industry
- Background in procurement of wood products and construction materials
- Advanced proficiency in Excel or similar tools
- Familiarity with Sage Master Builder and FileMaker
- Proficiency in Microsoft and Google applications
- Experience with CAD software (e.g., cadwork)
