The team at Coastline is hiring a Field Service Technician at their North Las Vegas, NV branch and look to find an enthusiastic candidate to round out the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnostics and Repairs: Perform complex on-site diagnostics and repairs on Wirtgen and John Deere construction equipment.
- Mentorship: Mentor Service Technician Trainees and Service Technicians.
- Training and Development: Participate in required Service EDUCATE Training programs.
- Customer Support: Support customer clinics and address maintenance, repair, or service concerns directly with customers.
- Knowledge Maintenance: Stay updated on Wirtgen, John Deere, and competitive products.
- Vehicle and Equipment Maintenance: Maintain the condition of the mobile service vehicle, trailer, inventory, tools, and equipment.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma, or equivalent.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience performing service repairs.
- Technical Expertise: Experience with repairs and maintenance using special tools and Technical Manual procedures, particularly on specialized machines. Experience operating vehicles, tools, and equipment for diagnostics.
- Industry Knowledge: Expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of Wirtgen or construction equipment.
- Mechanical Background: Ability to perform complex repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following technical manual procedures. Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in off-road, construction, or heavy equipment.
- Computer Proficiency: Basic computer skills; experience with Service ADVISOR™ or similar diagnostic tools preferred.
- Soft Skills: Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Toolset: Possession of an adequate toolset for job responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications: Advanced or Master Service Technician certification.
- License: Forklift License.
Physical Requirements
- Driving: Must be able to drive and travel in a vehicle. For the purposes of driving, must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Physical Conditions: Must be able to lift 50 pounds. This position is classified as a Type 2 A Type 2 driver is defined as an employee who does not possess a CDL Class A or B license but operates a vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) exceeding 10,000 pounds. Type 2 Drivers are required to hold and maintain a valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate (ME Certificate) in compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations. This includes periodic medical recertification and adherence to FMCSA compliance reviews.
