Position Title: Data Specialist

This position is not remote must report to the main office in Battle Creek, Michigan.

Position Summary:

Responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing all data collection and entry activities for a specialized data management system. Monitors and maintains data quality and implements and maintains quality control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing the reporting needs of the Agency.
  • Problem solves needs, prioritizes day-to-day workflow of the department, database integrity, and quality control.
  • Processes requests for reporting by adding and correcting entries into multiple databases or computer application.
  • Maintains organization of received data and source documents. Compiles, sorts, interprets, and verifies data to be entered.
  • Contacts preparer of source documents and provides information to resolve questions, inconsistencies, and problem solve or determine missing information.
  • Audits submissions and databases regularly to ensure integrity.
  • Reviews error reports and enters corrections into computer. File and route source documents after entry as appropriate. Respond to inquiries regarding entered data. Responsible for entering and verifying provider bills.
  • Compiles reports timely for Leadership and providers.
  • Provides technical expertise in the implementation and maintenance of multiple relational database management systems for the department; monitor and coordinate databases to optimize performance and interactivity.
  • ACLS/Waiver reporting, status changes and NAPIS entries.
  • Supports achievement of Agency mission, vision, and reflects its values in work behavior.

 

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma required.
  • One year of experience in data entry in a healthcare setting.
