OBJECTIVE: The Data Solutions Analyst is an entry level, multidisciplinary role supporting AgOutcomes’ data, product, and program operations. This position is ideal for a creative problem solver who enjoys working across data analysis, visualization, automation, and reporting. The Data Solutions Analyst will support the Soil and Water Outcomes Fund (www.theoutcomesfund.com) by developing data solutions that improve internal workflows, enhance program monitoring and verification, and help field staff engage farmers more effectively. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in ambiguity, learns new tools quickly, and enjoys building practical, user-centered solutions that help the organization work smarter.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Process, clean, validate, and analyze datasets related to program enrollment, environmental outcomes, farm practices, and field activities.
  • Conduct exploratory analysis and develop clear, actionable insights for internal teams and external partners.
  • Create data visualizations and reports that effectively communicate trends, findings, and key program metrics.
  • Utilize GIS software and tools to visualize, analyze, and manage spatial datasets related to farm fields, conservation practices, and environmental outcomes.
  • Perform data manipulation to integrate and prepare datasets from various sources while maintaining data integrity and consistency.
  • Use generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude) to streamline data cleaning, analysis, documentation, coding, and workflow development.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data collection, workflows, tools, and reporting, and prototype practical solutions.
  • Assist with recurring internal reporting for staff and farmers, including enrollment tracking, program performance, and key metrics.
  • Utilize software tools to support targeted communications with enrolled farmers and partners using program data.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of program goals.

TRAVEL/LOCATION

  • This position will be based in Ankeny, Iowa.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

  • This position has no supervisory responsibility.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Data Science, Statistics, Analytics, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in data analysis or related fields preferred.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g. R, Python).
  • Strong skills in data visualization.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on projects.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Familiarity with agricultural systems and conservation practices is beneficial.
  • Experience with GIS software.
  • Additional certifications, coursework, or projects in data analytics or related fields
  • Experience with Microsoft products (Teams, Outlook)
  • Other programming experience is a plus
