SUMMARY
The District Sales Manager (DSM) is responsible for managing customer relationships, driving sales performance, and growing revenue within the assigned territory. This role leads sales activities from initial prospecting through to closing, encompassing territory planning, customer development, budget creation, forecasting, and the execution of corporate strategic initiatives. The DSM is accountable for both new customer acquisition and existing account growth while maintaining detailed documentation within Navpoint CRM. This position requires travel throughout the territory and frequent field visits to customer sites.
LOCATION
This position is fully remote (work-from-home). The employee must reside within the assigned territory to maintain an effective local presence and fulfill customer and SMO USA business needs. Specific territory boundaries and preferred locations will be defined in the job posting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Territory Sales Management: The candidate will be responsible for developing and executing the territory sales plan in alignment with SMO USA's sales goals. The candidate is responsible for managing and growing existing customer accounts and identifying, pursuing, and converting new customer accounts to grow the assigned territory.
- Sales Planning and Forecasting: The candidate will prepare annual sales forecasts and budgets for the territory. The candidate will support the SMO USA’s sales management team by providing highly detailed and well-thought-out forecasts for the territory, based on customer feedback, projects in the sales pipeline, and ongoing product specification efforts with OEMs.
- Customer Engagement and Development: The candidate will drive their personal vehicle throughout the assigned territory to conduct in-person customer visits with both established and prospective accounts. Customer visits will require preparing and delivering on-site presentations and product demos, customer installation walk-throughs, and representing SMO USA at industry trade shows and related customer-facing events. The candidate will regularly travel between customer locations, industrial facilities, and project sites to advance sales opportunities and support territory growth. Conductix’s compensation plan includes reimbursement for travel expenses.
- Customer Retention: The candidate will serve as the primary SMO USA representative to assigned customers and the conduit between SMO USA’s inside sales team and the customer. is responsible for maintaining strong account relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction, resolving issues promptly, and preserving long-term loyalty to SMO USA products and services.
- CRM Documentation: The candidate is responsible for recording and reporting sales activities using Navpoint CRM. The candidate will update customer contact information, enter trip reports on time, in accordance with SMO USA’s standards, and provide regular updates on large project information.
- Quality and Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Compliance: Support and uphold the Quality and EHS policies of the organization.

Communication Skills:
The ideal candidate will possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, which are critical for daily interactions with Customers and internal teams. The role requires troubleshooting, effectively communicating, and resolving issues in collaboration with other parties.
Microsoft Outlook: Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook is essential, as it is the primary communication tool with both internal and external customers. The candidate must be capable of composing emails independently without reliance on pre-written scripts.
Microsoft Teams: The candidate should be comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily communications, including chat functionality, video calls, internal and external presentations, and screen sharing.
Tools/Software Proficiency:
Business Analytics: While prior experience with Power BI or other business analytics tools is not mandatory, it is advantageous. These tools will be used to generate and provide sales metrics, allowing for the analysis of trends and data.
Microsoft Excel: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is preferred as it is the primary tool used for data aggregation and analysis. The candidate should be able to generate graphs, clean and consolidate data, and create basic formulas.
CRM: This role requires proficient use of our internal CRM for data entry and customer management. Key tasks include generating trip reports, updating customer and prospect information, adding quote follow-ups, and approving project pricing.

- Ability to independently plan and navigate long-distance driving between customer sites, industrial facilities, and project locations.
- Comfortable entering and moving through manufacturing, port, and industrial environments while carrying demo tools, materials, or equipment with proper PPE as required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, marketing, or related field.
- At least three years of experience in a sales position or a similar customer-facing role.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
- An understanding of geometry and measuring techniques is preferred, but not required.
- Ability to draw and interpret graphs on Excel and similar software packages.
