About the Role

We’re hiring a Semi-Truck Delivery Driver.

This role is responsible for safely operating a specialized hauling vehicle to deliver and unload building materials at various job sites, including congested or challenging delivery locations. Work assignments are provided by the Yard 4 Supervisor, and work hours may vary based on customer demand.


What You’ll Do

  • Safely operate a delivery truck in compliance with OSHA and USDOT/FMCSA regulations

  • Load and unload materials while following proper handling and safety procedures

  • Deliver materials to designated job sites, including difficult or congested locations

  • Operate a Moffett forklift to move pallets, pipe, rebar, wire mesh, and brick cubes
  • Serve as a positive representative of The Gerken Companies through excellent customer service

  • Maintain assigned equipment and perform minor maintenance as needed

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and standing

  • Ability to safely access and navigate facilities

  • Ability to climb and descend ladders
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

  • Ability to work outside normal business hours as needed

  • Moderate noise levels in operational areas

What You Bring to the Table

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Valid Class A CDL issued by the State of Ohio
  • Hazmat endorsement required; Tanker endorsement preferred

  • Clean driving record with no violations

  • Minimum two years of work experience; construction-related experience preferred

  • Ability to safely operate a Moffett forklift

  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

  • Strong safety awareness and proper use of PPE

  • Knowledge of local roads and highways
  • Strong work ethic and customer service skills

  • Ability to identify and report unsafe job site conditions
