This role is on-site in our Slidell, LA Corporate office location. It is NOT a remote position.

 

AS AN IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST

The IT Support Specialist provides frontline technical support to employees across all company locations, serving as the first point of contact for IT-related issues. This role is responsible for troubleshooting hardware, software, and network problems, escalating complex issues appropriately, and maintaining documentation to support efficient IT operations.

IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST DUTIES INCLUDE     

  • Receive, log, and prioritize incoming support requests via phone, email, and ticketing system
  • Troubleshoot and resolve common hardware issues (desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices)
  • Assist users with password resets, account lockouts, and basic access permissions
  • Provide support for Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel)
  • Set up and configure workstations, laptops, and peripherals for new employees
  • Coordinate equipment deployment and retrieval for onboarding/offboarding
  • Perform basic hardware diagnostics and coordinate warranty repairs
  • Maintain inventory of IT equipment and supplies
  • Troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues (VPN, Wi-Fi, wired connections)
  • Assist remote employees with connection problems
  • Participate in rotating on-call schedule to provide after-hours support

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associate degree in IT or related field preferred
  • CompTIA A+ or similar certification is REQUIRED
  • 3+ years of experience in a help desk or technical support role
  • Basic understanding of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365
  • Strong communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
  • Customer service orientation with patience and professionalism
