

ACER General Manager
Location: Dallas, Texas

About ACER: Associated Construction Equipment Rentals (ACER) is a wholly owned subsidiary of ANDRES Construction Services and Texas based general contractor and construction manager. ACER was founded in 2008 to provide high-quality construction equipment, tools, and material handling solutions in support of project teams across our offices and job sites.
Position Summary The ACER General Manager is responsible for leading, managing, and optimizing all aspects of ACER’s operations—ensuring reliable fleet availability, cost-effective performance, and exceptional service. This role will oversee equipment procurement, maintenance, logistics, asset management, budgeting, and vendor relationships. The ACER General Manager will play a key part in developing ACER into a strategic advantage for ANDRES by improving equipment control, optimizing rental spend, and enhancing jobsite productivity.
Key Responsibilities

- Asset Tracking & Management
- Maintain accurate records of all rental equipment, vehicles, and additional related assets
- Implement and manage asset-tracking systems (GPS, telematics, Asset Panda)
- Track utilization, location, maintenance status, and lifecycle of all assets
- Manage project requests and inquiries regarding equipment
- Oversee scheduling and allocation of equipment (must be able to immediately arrange for equipment transport upon request)
- Equipment Maintenance
- Develop and manage preventive maintenance schedules
- Coordinate repairs, inspections, and certifications with ANDRES employees and external vendors
- Ensure all assets meet safety, regulatory, and manufacturer standards
- Monitor equipment health and downtime, implementing improvements to reduce lapses in usage
- Financial & Operational Optimization
- Analyze asset utilization to support purchasing/expansion, disposal, and transfer decisions
- Assist with budgeting, cost tracking, and forecasting for asset-related expenses
- Manage monthly invoicing in conjunction with Finance Department
- Review vendor quotes and negotiate service, repair, and leasing agreements
- Explore partnership opportunities that would expand ACER offerings and drive greater value.
- Compliance & Safety
- Maintain fleet compliance with OSHA and other applicable regulations
- Ensure all equipment documentation—titles, registrations, inspections, warranties—is current
- Support the implementation of company safety policies related to equipment and fleet use
- Strategic Planning & Development
- Partner with executive leadership to set short- and long-term goals for ACER aligned with corporate strategy such as renting equipment externally to trade partners
- Maintain the ACER business plan and consistently update to reflect current initiatives and goals
Qualifications
- 5-10 years of experience in construction equipment asset management or rental equipment operations
- Familiarity with fleet management, telematics, and asset tracking systems; preferred experience in construction-related equipment management or heavy equipment rental industry
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Experience managing budgets and P&L responsibility
- Excellent communication and vendor management abilities
- Proficient with Excel and asset management software
- Preferred mechanical or technical background particularly related to equipment troubleshooting knowledge
