We are seeking a skilled and motivated Safety Coordinator to join our Seattle or Tacoma, Washington office. In this role, the Safety Coordinator will work on assigned projects providing support to project teams on project-specific safety needs.

You will be responsible for:

  • Performing weekly jobsite visits/inspections.
  • Producing and tracking safety audit reports.
  • Correcting or overseeing the correction of identified issues; ensuring they are addressed and followed up on.
  • Advising the Washington Safety Manager on any unresolved or ongoing safety issues.      
  • Stopping work in progress that is deemed unsafe, and counseling with individuals involved.
  • Participating in project kick-off meetings.
  • Working with Project Manager, Superintendent, and Safety Manager to identify project-specific hazards.
  • Creating a site-specific safety manual.
  • Attending pre-construction safety meetings for high-risk subcontractors as identified in project kick-off meetings, and tracking specific issues to monitor when conducting audits.
  • Attending weekly sub-foreman meetings for assigned projects, as needed.
  • Assisting with investigation and documentation of accidents, including near misses and complaints.
  • Conducting and documenting job specific safety orientations.
  • Participating in project debrief meetings, as needed.
  • Assisting with production and distribution of Monday Morning Topics to all Project Managers and Superintendents.
  • Ensuring incidents are entered in the RMS.
  • Participating in all OSHA inspections and informal hearings as directed.  Reporting outcomes of such inspections to management as appropriate.
  • Issuing and tracking fall protection, as needed.
  • Ensuring proper selection of personal protection equipment and inventory is maintained and provided to assigned job sites.  

 You are qualified if:

  • You possess a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • You have a minimum of one year of construction field experience.
  • You are skilled in Microsoft Office products.      
  • You have completed, or have the ability to complete, fall protection competent person training and OSHA 10/30 training.
  • You can demonstrate specific knowledge of OSHA Construction rules and regulations.
  • You can read, write, speak and understand English. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • You are able to address issues with tact and professionalism.
  • You demonstrate the desire to work in a team environment.
  • You are capable speaking in large group settings.
  • You are lead HUD Certified, preferred.

Salary range is $70,000 to $90,000 annually.
