J Fletcher Creamer & Son, Inc. is currently looking for leaders to support the estimating team in our Hackensack office in bidding Civil, Heavy, & Utility construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Work alongside Estimators and Estimating Engineers to assist them in planning and preparing proposals for submission on various construction projects
- Read contract drawings and job specifications
- Take ownership of soliciting subcontractor and vendor pricing for proposals
- Perform quantity takeoffs
- Develop relationships with field personnel, subcontractors, and vendors
Experience / Education:
- Looking for a start in the Civil/Heavy/Utility industry
- A passion for estimating and some experience is also preferred
- Pursuing an engineering degree
Special Skills / Abilities Needed:
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Outstanding computer skills including the MS office suite of products, specifically Excel
- Ability to communicate effectively within the company, with clients, and with field personnel is essential
- Comfortable working in a team environment and speaking on the phone
- Knowledge of Bluebeam, and/or other estimating software and methods preferred
