Position Overview

The Retail Yard & Counter Associate plays a critical role in daily branch operations by supporting customers at the sales counter, assisting in the yard and warehouse, and ensuring a clean, safe, and organized retail environment. This is a hands-on role that combines customer service, product knowledge, physical work, and operational responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Safety

    • Open and close the showroom, yard, and warehouse as scheduled
    • Complete daily reports and operational checklists
    • Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow all safety procedures
    • Work outdoors and perform physical labor in varying weather conditions
    • Other duties as assigned

Customer Service & Sales

    • Provide excellent customer service at the sales counter, in the yard, in the warehouse, and over the phone
    • Assist customers with pavement maintenance products including sealcoat, crack filler, striping paint, tools, and rental equipment
    • Answer product questions and provide basic recommendations (training provided)
    • Process POS transactions, customer orders, returns, and account inquiries

Yard, Warehouse & Equipment Operations

    • Load and unload trucks using pumps, forklifts, and manual handling
    • Maintain yard, warehouse, and showroom organization and appearance standards
    • Clean, inspect, and perform light maintenance on rental equipment
    • Assist with inventory organization and restocking
    • Support internal construction crews by preparing materials and equipment for jobs

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong work ethic and team-first mindset
  • Valid driver’s license with a relatively clean motor vehicle record
  • 2+ years of customer service experience preferred
  • Forklift experience (2+ years preferred)
  • General mechanical aptitude or willingness to learn
  • Basic computer and point of sale (POS) system skills
  • Ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and perform physical labor
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
  • Ability to work 40–50 hours per week, including weekends
