Flatland Excavating is looking for an Operations Manager to take charge of our field activities—from scheduling and crew coordination to job completion and closeout. What You’ll Do

  • Oversee and optimize all field operations to ensure jobs run safely, efficiently, and profitably.

  • Coordinate scheduling with Sales, Estimating, and Project Management to keep projects on track.

  • Assign crews, equipment, and resources to maximize productivity.

  • Conduct daily field check‑ins, manage performance, and support foremen and field crews.

  • Lead with safety first—run safety meetings, monitor compliance, and respond to incidents.

  • Track production using HeavyJob or similar systems and ensure accurate reporting.

  • Participate in EOS Level 10 meetings and help execute quarterly goals.

  • Manage workforce systems, approve timecards, and keep things moving forward.

What You Bring

  • Experience in construction operations or field management (water and sewer experience a plus).

  • Strong leadership and communication skills with a focus on teamwork and accountability.

  • Knowledge of construction safety standards and field best practices.

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects without losing sight of the details.

  • Familiarity with HeavyJob or similar project tracking software preferred.
