We are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join a growing legal team in a remote capacity. Having experience in bankruptcy, collections, or civil litigation will align for this position. The position offers hands-on exposure to court proceedings, case management, and client advisory work while providing the flexibility of remote work within designated Virginia jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in various bankruptcy matters to ensure their legal interests are protected within federal and state laws.
- Handle collections matters effectively for a diverse range of clients across the firm's footprint.
- Represent clients in civil litigation matters in a remote capacity while maintaining high productivity and responsiveness.
- Attend court proceedings independently and represent the firm's interests in various Virginia jurisdictions.
- Ensure strict compliance with all applicable laws, local rules, and legal procedures throughout the litigation process.
- Conduct thorough legal research to identify relevant precedents and support the development of case strategies.
- Analyze complex case law to provide effective legal strategies and client advisory services.
- Draft high-quality pleadings and motions for bankruptcy, collections, and general civil litigation cases.
- Prepare professional correspondence and other essential legal documents for clients, opposing counsel, and the court.
- Maintain highly organized case files and manage all critical legal deadlines with extreme efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate closely with senior attorneys and support staff to deliver high-quality, client-focused legal service.
- Participate in professional development initiatives within a supportive and collaborative remote work environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years in bankruptcy, collections, or civil litigation
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active Virginia bar license in good standing
- Must reside in Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax, Falls Church, or Manassas, VA
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Admission in additional states within the firm’s footprint (GA, SC, TN, FL, MD, MI, OH) or UBE passage. (Preferred)
- Prior experience attending court proceedings independently. (Preferred)
- Proven ability to work remotely while maintaining productivity, responsiveness, and collaboration. (Preferred)
