Heavy Forklift Operator Overview:
Join our team as a Heavy Forklift Operator and be at the forefront of our operations, driving gasoline or electric powered heavy forklifts with precision and expertise! Your role is crucial in pushing, pulling, lifting, and moving products, equipment, or materials, ensuring seamless workflow and efficiency. Heavy Forklift Operator Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safely transport materials throughout the property.
- Load and unload products from and onto flatbed trailers and rail cars.
- Ensure materials are safely placed in the proper position.
- Pull and prepare products for shipment ensuring the exact number and types of products are loaded.
- Understand the load limits of wood products and proper placement of dunnage for safe transfer of loads.
- Verify load accuracy, check the load count, stability, and product for damage, must report variances as necessary.
- Maintain the facility’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
- Complete and submit the daily inspection of equipment report to supervisor.
- Meet loading and unloading time constraints.
- Adhere to all company safety/OSHA rules and regulations.
- The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.
Heavy Forklift Operator Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience operating heavy forklift.
- Must be able to operate a forklift and pass heavy forklift training program.
- Must be able to load and unload 35,000 pounds and up.
Heavy Forklift Operator Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift 100 lbs. or less, bend, stoop, lift, and carry frequently.
- Excessive amount of pushing/pulling from the waist.
- Exposed to temperature fluctuations and loud noises.
- Requires a considerable amount of overtime including working weekends.
- All of the physical demands listed are essential functions.
