Job Summary:

The laborer will primarily be responsible for assisting in all phases of concrete construction, from land preparation (excavation, forming, barbar placement) to pouring, expanding, leveling, and finishing concrete for projects such as floors, sidewalks, floors, using various hand and power tools in physically demanding conditions, ensuring safety and quality in all tasks. This position reports directly to the group's Foremen

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for helping with anything and everything as assigned, including but not limited to:
    • Assist with the preparation of construction sites, including setting up forms and molds for concrete pours.
    • Mix, pour, and spread concrete using hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment
    • Assist with the removal of forms, molds, and temporary structures once concrete has set.
    • Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure efficiency and safety on the job site.
    • Operate and maintain concrete mixers, vibrators, and other equipment used in concrete work.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Spanish.
  • Deep understanding or the ability to quickly learn production operations and concrete machinery.
  • Understand instructions and apply them to work.
  • Know how to form sidewalks, C&G, Ramps, Truncated Domes, Bollards, Light pole bases, Steps, etc.
  • Know how to operate skid loader, Saw Joints, Power Trowel, Demo Saw, Skill Saw, Grinders, etc.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Common Sense

Required tools that the employee must bring:

  • Pliers
  • Measuring tape
  • Wire Roll Roller
  • Hammer
  • Sledge Hammer
  • Work Boots

Education and experience:

  • At least 0 - 1 year of experience in the construction trade is required.

Physical requirements:

  • The position requires the employee to stand, walk, bend, manipulate objects, reach outward and reach above the head and shoulders, climb, descend, squat, kneel, bend, and occasionally lift/push/pull/drag on flat ground or steep slopes up to 80 pounds.
  • The employee must have excellent endurance and work endurance.

Work Environment

  • The work is outdoors. Working conditions range from very cold to high temperatures, strong winds, flying dust, hazards, and slipping conditions, and are frequently exposed to loud noises from machinery and heavy machinery.
