Job Summary

Coastal Well Service is seeking an experienced Machinist to support operations through precision machining, repair, and fabrication of downhole and surface equipment. This position plays a critical role in maintaining operational readiness and ensuring all machined components meet company and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate manual and CNC machines (lathes, mills, drill presses, grinders)
  • Machine, repair, and modify oilfield tools, components, and assemblies
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders
  • Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, and gauges
  • Maintain tight tolerances and ensure high-quality workmanship
  • Inspect finished products for accuracy and conformance to specifications
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Follow all Coastal Well Service safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to meet job deadlines

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 1+ years experience as a machinist
  • Strong knowledge of metals, tooling, feeds, and speeds
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and machine interfaces

Physical Requirements:

  • The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. This includes hard hat, safety glasses, life vest, respirators, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done
  • Walking, stepping, climbing or otherwise moving from one location on the job site to another, and normally involves physically getting into and out of equipment through the use of vertical mounted ladders up to and including 10’ or more in height
  • Visually seeing equipment operations well (either naturally or with corrective lenses)
  • Standing, stooping kneeling, squatting, climbing or sitting for long periods of time
  • Repetitive movements by feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, hands and back in performance of work
  • Climbing vertical ladders
  • Working at elevated heights
  • Lifting 50 lb. objects as required
  • Carrying 50 lb. objects as required
  • Adapting to outdoor conditions and prolonged exposure
  • Remaining calm during emergencies and respond appropriately as dictated by the circumstance of the incident
  • Exposure to working outdoors in all-weather conditions
  • Ability to work more than 40 hours in any given week including weekend assignments as required

Licenses or Certifications:

·       MSHA Part 48 Training Certificate Preferred

·       OSHA 10 Preferred
