Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist in pouring, smoothing and setting of asphalt on roads, driveways, and parking lots.
  • Prepare work areas by cleaning, sweeping, and clearing debris to ensure a smooth surface for asphalt application.
  • Set up cones and barricades to control traffic around work zones and ensure safety for workers and motorists.
  • Working as part of a team (crew members, supervisors and equipment operators), to ensure seamless workflow and timely project completion and to deliver high-quality paving projects.
  • Performing daily maintenance and safety checks on the paver and other equipment.  This includes cleaning, lubricating and making minor repairs as needed to keep the machinery in good working condition.
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment to include the wearing of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and participating in safety meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience on a paving crew is often required.  Some positions may offfer training for candidates with potential.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Ability to work night shift as required
  • Ability to work long hours when required

Work Environment:   Willingness to work 50+ hours a week, including out-of-doors under varying climatic conditions.  Job may require lifting and bending.  Noise level is high. Employee may experience occasional pressure due to multiple tasks and deadlines.
