BVK is looking for an experienced market research professional to lead and grow its Market Research group. The role is pivotal in shaping brand strategy, communications development and success measurement for our clients and the communications we develop for them. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in B2C and B2B research from an agency and/or corporate perspective and a flexible approach to developing research that meets project objectives while fitting a variety of client budgets. While this is a director position, the role will require significant hands-on project management, including working with third-party vendors, survey programming and qualitative participant recruitment.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, managing and executing quantitative and qualitative research among consumers, professionals and other audiences. Our research is most often designed to provide inputs into brand strategy development, creative development and optimization, campaign impact measurement, or monitoring brand health.
  • Developing concise reports of primary and secondary research that focus on the strategic implications of key learning and verbally communicating that learning to clients and other agency departments.
  • Present research findings to senior clients in a clear, compelling, and persuasive way that drives decision-making and inspires action.
  • Translate complex data into engaging narratives tailored to different audiences (CMOs, brand teams, creative teams, executives).
  • Introducing new, non-traditional approaches to conducting research and identifying and capturing suitable respondents and participants.
  • Participating in developing responses to Requests for Proposals.
  • Managing and developing other members of the Research group.
  • Assuring the quality and accuracy of the output of the group.
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce project costs (through new technologies, department efficiencies, choice of partners, etc.) and monitoring project costs to ensure research projects are profitable for the agency.
  • Growing the group to meet project workload.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 10 years of market research experience that includes designing and executing quantitative, qualitative, B2C and B2B.
  • Preferably experience working as a market researcher for an ad agency, otherwise working in the research department of a corporation.
  • Moderating experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients and agency personnel and collaborate across agency teams.
  • Working knowledge of one or more survey platforms such as Qualtrics or Decipher.
  • A good understanding of statistical techniques that can be used to add value to data (Z-Test, T-Test, cluster and factor analysis, conjoint/MaxDiff, regression, etc.)
  • Examples of the use of non-traditional research approaches and creative solutions to recruiting hard-to-find participants for qualitative research and survey samples.
  • A proactive curiosity towards the evolving role of AI in research and willingness to explore opportunities to use AI in research at BVK to improve efficiency while maintaining high standards of research rigor and ethics.
  • Proven ability to develop concise, strategic implication directed reports.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to confidently lead discussions, defend methodology, and guide clients through implications.
  • Ability to work in Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
