What we are looking for:

Contracts Manager

The Contracts Manager supports the organization by reducing risk related to contracts, insurance, bonds, subcontractor agreements, contractor compliance (M/W/S/DBE), and claims. Provides risk management support, guidance, and training to internal teams to ensure compliance, mitigate exposure, and promote consistent practices. Works cross-functionally with project teams, vendors, and legal to ensure contract integrity and execution success.

This position is based out of Edison, NJ. Physical presence is a necessary job function of this role.  Ability to visit jobsites with an occasional overnight travel may be required. 

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full contract lifecycle by supporting the project teams: intake, review, approval, execution, amendments, and closeout.
  • Draft and review contracts (vendor, subcontracts, service agreements, leases, etc.).
  • Provide project teams with approved template documents, including required flow-down provisions.
  • Support project teams with subcontract and purchase order execution, including coordination with outside legal counsel.
  • Provide guidance and training to internal teams on processes and procedures.
  • Maintain contract tracking systems and document repositories.
  • Ensure execution strategies are aligned with project and company goals.
  • Manage insurance renewals across all company policies.
  • Manage all insurance claims, including coordination with brokers, carriers, legal counsel, and internal stakeholders through resolution.
  • Oversee contractor compliance, including internal monthly reviews, reporting, and external audit oversight.
  • Coordinate with Legal to manage risk and ensure compliance.
  • Perform audits of all contracts, purchase orders, change orders and subcontractor insurance certificates for completeness and adherence to contract requirements to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Track subcontractor bonding and ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Coordinate company bonding needs, including all bond procurement, ongoing support, and closeout.
  • Provide estimating support related to bonding requirements.
  • Review and assess credit applications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Legal Studies, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in contracts management (construction or project-based industries preferred).
  • Possess experience with construction-specific agreements, including subcontracts, change orders, scopes of work, flow-down requirements, and project-specific risk allocation
  • Construction industry experience required (or similar environment with a field-based workforce).
  • Working knowledge of contract law, insurance requirements, and licensing.
  • Proven skill in contract negotiation and contract terms and conditions.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience using contract lifecycle management software preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, etc.)
