About the Role
We’re hiring a Purchasing Intern to support our Purchasing team with essential procurement functions that keep our operations running smoothly. You’ll gain a real understanding of how purchasing decisions impact cost, efficiency, and daily operations across the company.
This part‑time, summer internship is approximately 30 hours per week, giving you flexibility while building valuable business experience.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with creating and processing purchase orders
- Track and monitor order statuses to ensure timely delivery
- Communicate with suppliers to resolve issues or discrepancies
- Participate in supplier negotiations to secure favorable terms
- Help analyze cost structures and identify cost‑saving opportunities
- Support data entry, filing, and document organization
- Perform additional administrative tasks to support the Purchasing team
- Maintain regular in‑person attendance
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk
- Ability to occasionally lift office materials (10–20 pounds)
- Ability to work in a typical office environment
What You Bring
- Currently enrolled in a degree program such as Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Analytical thinking and problem‑solving ability
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Positive attitude, dependability, and a willingness to learn
