POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a Foreman to lead sitework crews on residential, commercial, and public infrastructure construction projects throughout Texas. This position requires expertise in site preparation activities including grading, excavation, clearing, and earthwork operations.

The Sitework Foreman ensures all job site activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with plans, specifications, and applicable regulations. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with an emphasis on site grading, excavation safety, and coordination with project managers and field crews.

YOUR ROLE

  • Lead and supervise a crew of laborers and equipment operators performing site preparation and earthwork activities.
  • Interpret site plans, blueprints, and grading specifications to ensure correct elevation, slope, and layout.
  • Coordinate excavation, grading, and clearing operations in preparation for infrastructure or building development.
  • Ensure grading and earthmoving activities meet required specifications for elevation, compaction, and drainage.
  • Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, and subcontractors to ensure sitework activities stay on schedule.
  • Oversee trench and excavation safety, ensuring proper sloping, benching, or protective systems are used when required.
  • Maintain daily production goals while prioritizing safety and quality.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings and jobsite inspections related to excavation hazards, equipment operation, and general site safety.
  • Ensure all permits, locates (811), and environmental or erosion control requirements are followed.
  • Complete daily reports, crew timesheets, and inspection forms accurately.
  • Maintain proper use, inspection, and maintenance of equipment including excavators, dozers, graders, loaders, and compactors.
  • Identify and troubleshoot grading issues, soil conditions, or site conflicts and escalate to management when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Valid Texas Driver’s License is preferred.
  • OSHA 30 Certification or Site Safety Training is a plus.
  • Competent Person for Excavation certification is strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of sitework or civil construction foreman experience.
  • Proven knowledge of grading, excavation, and earthwork operations.
  • Familiarity with site preparation including clearing, rough grading, fine grading, and compaction.
  • Experience coordinating with surveyors, inspectors, and project managers on active construction sites.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to lead a crew and enforce safety and quality standards.
  • Proficient in reading grading plans, elevations, and site layout drawings.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Capable of identifying grading issues, drainage concerns, or soil challenges in the field.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a strong plus.
  • Proficient in completing electronic reports or mobile app documentation.
  • Has reliable transportation and is punctual and dependable.
  • Committed to safety and maintaining compliance on active sites.

SCHEDULE

This is a full-time, on-site position — no remote or hybrid options.

Typical Work Hours:

  • Monday – Friday, starting as early as 5:00 AM and ending as late as 6:00 PM (Exact hours may change depending on the job or weather.)
  • Typically 8–12 hour shifts
  • You may be asked to work overtime or on Saturdays when needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This job involves a lot of moving, lifting, climbing, bending, and standing. You’ll work outside in the heat, cold, or rain depending on the day. You’ll also use tools and may operate equipment or vehicles.
