Job Summary:  The HSE Leader collaborates with project management and supervisory teams to anticipate, identify, and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices within project scopes.  This role develops and implements methods to achieve incident-free work environments and supports all aspects of health, safety, and environmental compliance while assisting the HSE Construction Manager with additional assignments.

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of construction safety experience (heavy-civil preferred).
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • Advanced knowledge of, and ability to enforce, all federal, state, local, client, and company safety regulations.
  • Drug-free and the ability to obtain a TWIC.
  • Valid Louisiana driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to train and educate others.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and able to learn company-specific software.
  • Ability to maintain detailed work schedules, organize assignments by priority, perform repetitive tasks, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clients, leadership teams, and employees at all levels.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to see well (naturally or with correction), speak, and hear.
  • Must be able to ascend and descend stairs and traverse varying terrain to access project sites.
  • Must be able to perform work outdoors in high humidity and cold temperatures.
