Reports to: Senor Project Manager
The Summer Intern will assist the Project Management and Design Team with management of HVAC and Plumbing design and construction. The duties and responsibility are as follows.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to work at least a 3-day schedule, maintaining a 16-hour or less, work week.
- The ideal candidate would be a high school student.
- Must have reliable transportation to the office in Rockville.
- Must pass a background check and comply with initial and random drug testing.
- Dependable punctual and reliable.
- Works well with the team, including coordinating other trades.
- Inquisitive and eager to learn; asks questions.
- Communicates effectively in English, both verbally and written.
- Strong customer service skills: we must be able to work effectively and professionally with internal customers.
- Must have great attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
- Able to work Monday-Friday as needed, starting as early as 7:30 am, and as late as 4:30 pm. Depending on the schedule agreed upon supervisor and candidate.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Summer Intern will work on multiple projects in the Construction Department.
- Assist Project Team with project set up and planning that consist of tracking design revisions, submittals, RFI’s, Mechanical and Plumbing Equipment.
- Assist the Project Team with project closeout requirements that consist of creating maintenance logs, owner and operators manuals, warranty documents etc.
- Learn to read contract drawings.
- Take-off equipment shown on contract drawings.
- Attend virtual project meetings when possible.
- Update tracking logs of equipment for projects.
- Use the Autodesk Construction Cloud to perform various updates for projects.
