JOB SUMMARY: Install Plumbing systems with an emphasis on quality, productivity, training, and teamwork. This position reports to the Leadman/Foreman/Superintendent on site.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5 years of experience in commercial Plumbing
  • Education: High School Diploma /G.E.D and/or Plumbing Trade school
  • Licenses: Journeyman Plumber, Backflow Certification, OSHA 30, CPR / First Aid, Valid Driver’s License
  • This job does have a degree of physical requirements.
  • Installation technician must be able to lift 75lbs, stand for extended periods of time, work off ladders and lifts and operate hand tools for the length of the shift.
  • Must be prepared to work in indoor and outdoor environments and inclement weather conditions.
  • Must be flexible with working hours (nights & weekend work hours are required)

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Clock in and out daily and use call out line when required
  • Proficient at layout and installation of hangers
  • Understand what tools to use for each task including but not limited to;
    • Operating power tools
    • Operating threading and groove machine.
    • Operate specialty tools such as freeze machine, wet tap tool and tee drill.
  • Create material lists
  • Possess clear knowledge base of plumbing/hydronic concepts and applies standard commercial basic materials and methods applications for performing proficient installation of;
    • Grading waste and vent pipe
    • Soldering/brazing copper pipe
    • Copper pipe, PVC, cast-iron, steel pipe, gas pipe, etc.
    • Fixture installation
    • Testing piping on all systems
    • Pipe and install trim kits on equipment
    • Equipment lay out
  • Create and forward daily reports when required.
  • Participate in mentorship program (mentor apprentices when needed).
  • Read & understand all plans & specifications for tasks being performed.
  • Run job site with minimal supervision for one or several days, when required.
  • Maintain job site condition & standards (jobsite clean, safe and organized). Acquire all required hand tools, safety requirements   (proper PPE)
  • Have good work habits by showing up early, with all the proper tools, ready to work.
  • Present a positive attitude.
  • Comply with S&D’s safety plan (proper PPE)
  • Adhere & comply with all company policies per employee handbook.
  • Take direction from the job site foreman or lead man.
  • Follow the guidelines of jobsite/contractor.
  • Work with apprentices and plumbers that may need help.
  • Help plan ahead and work with your foreman onsite.
  • Keep company vehicle clean (if provided one) and maintain it per company policy.
