POSITION TITLE: Truck Driver Heavy Construction Equipment (lowboy)

DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Nationally recognized environmental remediation contractor located in Niagara Falls, New York, is looking for a full time lowboy Truck Driver to drive heavy loads throughout the East Coast to the Mid-West. Travel is mainly Monday through Friday, will be home most weekends.
The daily work will include:
- Will be responsible for lowboy truck operations transporting heavy construction equipment to numerous job sites located throughout the United States
- Understanding the safe operation of each type of equipment driven
- Perform all required DOT vehicle inspections to include pre and post trip safety inspections and report any issues
- Complete and maintain all required paperwork
- Ensure all cargo is properly secured
- Track and document equipment moves
- Maintain eligibility to drive under DOT regulations
- Understand all applicable permits that are required and work within the permit parameters
- Practice safe driving and accident prevention
- Immediately report all incidents/accidents and participate and cooperate with all accident investigations
- Attend all safety and training meetings
- Keep equipment clean and in good working condition
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 2-5 years’ work experience driving and loading a 40+ ton rig; examples of equipment to be moved are: excavators, bulldozers, and wheel loaders, many of the over width and overweight variety
- Experience in heavy hauling with a lowboy
- Must possess a clean and valid Class A CDL license with any applicable endorsements
- Must meet all DOT requirements to include pre-employment drug and alcohol examination
- Must be able to demonstrate experience with lowboy operation--heavy equipment loading and unloading
- Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
SALARY/BENEFITS:
An employee’s salary is based on commensurate experience and other qualifications.
