The Ruhlin Company seeks to hire a Surveyor for the Operations Department.

Summary: In this primarily field-based role, perform precise survey layouts on construction sites to ensure all work adheres strictly to design specifications and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities:

· Provide work control lines and elevations that are required for accurate measurement and correct installation of materials by crafts, i.e., forms for concrete pours, anchor bolts, wall lines, footers, utilities, beams, dirt work, etc.

· Complete assigned projects on time with accurate results.

· Perform work in accordance with company safety policies and goals.

· Interpret and organize data for as-built creation, and establishing existing conditions.

· Provide topographic and cross-section surveys as required for planning and payment quantities.

· Document surveying activities, plan changes, and modifications.

· Maintain organized, detailed, and accurate field notes.

· Coordinate surveying activities with company supervision to meet the construction requirements.

· Maintain, properly use, and safeguard surveying equipment, taking full accountability for its condition.

· Provide plan checks and calculations to ensure proper accuracy.

· Perform additional duties assigned by the Survey Manager.

Essential Skills and Experience:

· Minimum 2 years survey experience; construction survey experience preferred.

· Working knowledge of GPS equipment, robotic total stations, and willingness to learn new types of surveying equipment.

· Basic computer skills, including Bluebeam and Microsoft Office.

· Previous Trimble/AutoCAD/CAD experience is a plus.

· Ability to accurately read construction drawings and make calculations.

· Basic knowledge of machine control.

· Effective verbal and written communication skills.

· Must be willing and able to travel as needed.

· Ability to effectively train and mentor others.

· Team focused mindset with the ability to build strong working relationships.
