Coast has an opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join our team of construction professionals based in Arlington, WA. Occasional travel as needed.

 

Key responsibilities include

  • Develop and manage project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Oversee preconstruction activities such as design reviews, permitting, and subcontractor buyouts.
  • Lead project teams, including subcontractors, consultants, and internal staff, to ensure efficient and successful project execution.
  • Promote collaboration and maintain clear communication among all project stakeholders.
  • Prepare, monitor, and manage project budgets, including cost control and invoice review and approval.
  • Identify potential cost overruns, evaluate impacts, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Negotiate and administer subcontractor agreements, scopes of work, and material procurement.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve field and site-related issues promptly.
  • Create and maintain project schedules, identify critical path activities, and drive adherence to deadlines.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project status and progress.
  • Address client concerns proactively and ensure project outcomes remain aligned with expectations. 

Requirements

 

5-7 years’ minimum of experience with management for a general contractor.

A strong understanding of the construction market in various states, including current market prices and clients (e.g. engineers, architects, property managers and owners.

Exceptional math and computer skills including Microsoft Suite, with an emphasis in Excel and Projects, Sage 100 contractor software is a plus, LEED certified is a plus.

Experience managing client relationships and performing light business development duties.

 

BA or BS Degree in Business, Engineering or preferably in Construction Management with five (5) years previous experience in a construction management environment OR (10) years work experience in a PM role.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

 

Solid background in construction.  Proven track record of problem-solving issues.  Professional appearance and attitude, possessing strong verbal and written communication skills to represent Coast Construction Group in a positive and professional manner.  Thorough knowledge of Project Management coordination and scheduling.  Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings accurately.  Proficient at reading, writing, and comprehending contractual legal documents and/or draft addendums.  PC literate for correspondence spread sheet tracking and project management coordination, including basic skills with MS Office. MS Projects a plus. Demonstrates established and consistent methods of multi-tasking abilities and attention to detail.
