We are looking for a skilled and motivated Community Engagement Coordinator to join our Seattle, Washington regional office. In this role, you'll be enhancing and growing the community engagement / outreach efforts that have set Walsh apart for many years in the affordable housing community and the construction industry at large. You will be responsible for:
- Community Based Connections - Developing and cultivating long term relationships with community-based organizations, advocacy groups, trade partners, and membership organizations.
- Representing Walsh – Serve as the primary Walsh representative with external outreach partners, including fostering support of outreach events, enhancing both internal recruiting needs and the mission of our outreach partners and their clients/participants.
- In-house Expertise – Maintaining, growing, and cultivating institutional understanding of current industry requirements and goals related to hiring and outreach applicable to Walsh’s publicly funded projects and with our mission-driven clients.
- Project Team Support – Shepherding and leading the creation of project-specific Equity Goals and Outreach Plans, including wholistic management of the process throughout the life cycle of a project from preconstruction and RFP response to construction reporting to close-out documentation.
- Regional Consistency – Creating and enhancing a system of internal best-practices for projects pursuing equity goals and reporting, with ongoing support around hiring, subcontractor selection and outreach.
- Subcontractor Relationships – Enhancing and reinforcing ongoing efforts to broaden the subcontractor pool for all Walsh projects.
You are qualified if:
- You have a high school degree or equivalent, with bachelor’s degree in construction management, human resources, or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
- You have a minimum of 1 year of previous office/administrative experience. Previous outreach experience and 5+ years in the construction industry strongly preferred.
- You are comfortable with public speaking and presenting.
- You have capacity to work with varied people and teams, including field personnel, office staff and executive level leaders and clients.
- You are efficient, organized, self-motivated, capable of effective multi-tasking, and a positive-minded team player.
- You possess business management acumen and strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as strong communication and client service skills.
- Working knowledge of computer programs including: Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Project, & project management systems such as ViewPoint & AutoDesk.
Salary range is $85,500 to $102,200 annually.
