Position Overview

This role oversees the day-to-day execution of BESCO’s small commercial and industrial service work and project activity and manages customer service requests, coordinates dispatching of service technicians, oversees scheduling and workflow, estimates work, and drives small project execution from kickoff through closeout.

This individual serves as a key point of contact for customers, field personnel, and internal departments to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, profitably, and with a high level of responsiveness. The ideal candidate brings strong electrical industry knowledge, sound judgment, urgency, and the ability to balance customer needs, technician utilization, and business priorities. This person must also be able to assess customer issues, provide practical solutions, and develop estimates for service and small project work.

Key Responsibilities

Project Oversight

  • Oversee the execution of small commercial and industrial electrical projects and service work from initial request through completion and closeout. 
  • Coordinate and dispatch service technicians based on customer needs, technician skill set, jobsite priorities, and business demands.
  • Manage service backlog, technician workload, and project flow to ensure timely response and efficient use of labor resources.
  • Organize, coordinate, and schedule maintenance, replacement, troubleshooting, and service work orders to support customer expectations and company goals.
  • Monitor job progress, labor productivity, and overall performance of assigned service and small project work to support profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Work closely with field personnel, warehouse, procurement, estimating, and leadership to ensure jobs are properly staffed, equipped, and supported.
  • Reinforce company policies, support safe work practices, and ensure service and small project activity is executed in accordance with safety expectations and applicable requirements.

Customer Relationships

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers on service calls, maintenance work, and small projects. Maintain strong communication regarding scheduling, job progress, and issue resolution.
  • Evaluate customer issues and provide practical, timely solutions that address operational needs while aligning with code requirements, safety expectations, and company capabilities.
  • Identify and resolve scheduling issues, field challenges, customer concerns, and operational roadblocks in a timely and professional manner.

Financial Accountability

  • Prepare estimates, proposals, and pricing for service work and small projects. Review scope, labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor needs to support timely and accurate quoting.
  • Analyze service performance, technician utilization, and workflow processes and recommend improvements that enhance customer service, responsiveness, and profitability.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical construction, service, small projects, or a related field
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems, service operations, maintenance practices, and small project execution
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with customers, field teams, vendors, and internal departments
  • Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple jobs and shifting priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to work within service, dispatch, estimating, or project management platforms
  • Ability to coordinate field personnel, drive accountability, and support a responsive, solutions focused team environment
