Job Description

This individual will be responsible for effectively and accurately directing and coordinating all activities relating to project budgeting and bid proposals. Responsible for organizing proper scope, bid documents, trade partner scopes, and the development of a well-detailed proposal/estimate.  This position works with the President/Principal of the West Region for final review and go/no-go discussions, as well as with the Director of Field Operations. We believe in working in a team environment, and help will come from assigning certain tasks to other people in the company.  The ideal candidate will have the ability to work and communicate with the Client and Architect, work with Design Development drawings through Construction drawings, and have proven construction estimating experience as well as a complete understanding of contractual requirements, design drawings, and project specifications, including, but not limited to:

  • Working and understanding of various stages of drawings and concepts for the project
  • Ability to convey project scope with means and methods to the client/owner
  • Creative and thoughtful planning for project logistics
  • Ability to ensure accurate and comparative Subcontractor pricing and scope
  • Ensuring that estimates are completed on time and accurately
  • Obtain all bid documents to submit for review
  • Attend pre-bid meetings
  • Interpret drawings, specs, renderings, and addendums to prepare quantity take-offs, cost, materials, and labor estimates
  • Submit requests for information to the architect/client for any discrepancies or missing information in the bid documents
  • Submit complete and reviewed bids/proposals by deadlines
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and updated project plans, specifications, correspondence, and estimating documentation on projects, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Soliciting and evaluating subcontractor pricing information
  • Conceptual and DD Budgets & Control Estimates
  • Cost Analysis, construction means and methods, value engineering and project scheduling 

Requirements:

  • 8 years’ experience in construction estimating, with 1 year of experience in the Las Vegas market preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Administration, or equivalent
  • Preferably experience  with projects up to $100M
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Responsible time management
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks and have excellent follow-up skills both internally and externally
  • Experience with On-Screen Take Off, BIM, Building Connect, Trade Tapp
  • Willingness to travel if required
