Penn Line Service Inc, a company of Penn Line Enterprises, is recruiting for an Assistant Project Manager/Estimator (Electrical) to help provide project oversight and to assemble construction estimates for highway electrical and intelligent traffic solutions (ITS) projects in the heavy highway and private markets.
This position will report to our office in Hunker, PA and/or to one of various job sites. The job can also be based in/around State College, PA,

Responsibilities:
- Track quantities of work performed by crews, compare to owners pay quantities, and resolve differences
- Assist in preparing invoices for completed work
- Analyze bid documents, specifications, and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project
- Understand project logistics and project schedule
- Obtain quotes from material suppliers and subcontractors and compare them with the best value.
- Assembles estimates for extra work order items and change orders
- Identify custom material requirements and how best to source approved materials
- Ensure accurate and detailed follow up with suppliers, customers, and field leadership on project details
- Provide submittals to customers for review/approval, (shop drawings, material cut sheets and other technical data).
- Provide technical assistance to internal and external customers, i.e., the interpretation of drawings and construction standards
- Prepare and submit Requests for Information to customers and DOTs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers
- Occasional travel required to visit job sites or other offices
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management or 3 years of relevant experience
- Previous estimating and/or project management experience preferred
- Knowledge of DOT standards and specifications a plus
- Strong attention to detail and extremely organized
- Must be adept at critical thinking and problem solving
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or as a team
- Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to execute projects on-time
- Excellent written and verbal communicator
