Bensonwood is seeking a Safety Coordinator to join the team. 

Position Summary Safety Coordinator (SC) 

The Safety Coordinator (SC), in partnership with the Employee Success department, Production Directors, and Safety Committee, is responsible for developing, implementing, and administering all health and safety programs across all Bensonwood facilities and job sites. This role serves as the primary driver for fostering a safe and healthy workplace culture. This is an in-person role based out of our Walpole and Keene, New Hampshire facilities, with regular travel to regional job sites. 

 

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Develop and implement safety protocols aligned with OSHA regulations, including:  
    • Lockout/Tagout  
    • Electrical safety  
    • Ergonomics  
    • Industrial hygiene  
    • Hazard communication  
    • Personal protective equipment (PPE)  
    • Forklift Training and Certification  
  • Ensure employee compliance with OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 training requirements; maintain accurate records  
  • Track motor vehicle licensure and DOT physical requirements, including expirations, renewals, and violations  
  • Create and implement site-specific safety plans and hazard analyses  
  • Conduct field observations, job site inspections, and safety audits  
  • Lead incident investigations and document findings  
  • Maintain safety documentation and conduct employee safety evaluations  
  • Develop and deliver safety orientations, trainings, and toolbox talks  
  • Manage safety equipment inventory and ensure proper condition and availability of PPE  
  • Maintain inspection schedules for facilities and emergency equipment (e.g., AEDs, eyewash stations)  
  • Oversee fall protection equipment inspections and compliance  
  • Lead the Joint Loss Management Committee and facilitate quarterly meetings  
  • Collaborate with shop leaders to create training programs for tools, equipment, and job site procedures  
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure strong collaboration prior to execution of safety initiatives  
  • Develop written proposals for new or revised safety programs and present recommendations to leadership  
  • Support safety-related budgeting, including planning, tracking, and resource allocation  

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Strong knowledge of industry-specific safety methods, procedures, and best practices  
  • Proven experience delivering training and instruction  
  • Experience with change management and implementing new processes across teams  
  • Experience developing proposals, delivering presentations, and influencing stakeholders  
  • Budget creation and management experience  
  • Construction and/or manufacturing experience strongly preferred  
  • Relevant certifications, such as:  
  • Accident Investigation  
  • Ergonomics  
  • Safe rigging practices  
  • Rope rescue  
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED  
  • Construction field experience
