Position Title: Accounts Payable and General Ledger Coordinator

Department:  Finance

Reports to:  Finance Manager

FLSA: Non-exempt

Position Summary:

Performs many of the accounting functions necessary to help ensure the smooth operations of the Finance Department.

 Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Process cash disbursements, ensuring support documentation and accuracy.
  • Monitors bank accounts daily, verifying ACH transactions and tracking for the monthly report, review daily Positive Pay reports for exceptions.
  • Updates A/P and G/L entries scanning to DocuWare online files.
  • Reviews monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll & processes year-end A/P reports.
  • Maintains and reconciles employee payroll deductions with expenses and A/P to G/L.
  • Process payroll accurate and timely to Arcoro for processing.
  • Maintains A/P Vendor, A/P Waiver, and Employee payroll files.
  • Prepares monthly G/L entries for grant processing.
  • Tracks grant expenses and prepare reports for Chief Operating Officer.
  • Updates Employee 401K Contributions & process employee disbursement requests.
  • Assists in the audit process.
  • Support the achievement of the Agency’ mission, vision and reflects its values in work behavior.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree in accounting is preferred or the equivalent in job experience.

Required Skills:

  • Personality and demeanor to address co-workers and assist providers professionally.
  •  Flexible and adaptable in various situations and when interacting with many different personalities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software, specifically Excel and Word.
  • Ability to analyze and define problems and work independently or with a team to resolve them.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
