POSITION SUMMARY: The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels by strategically allocating locations, creating bins, and ensuring compliance within the WMS NetSuite system. This role performs scheduled, and on-demand cycle counts within the warehouse to ensure product availability, support smooth operations, and minimize discrepancies that could impact customer service and financial performance.

The Inventory Control Specialist works closely with the Branch Leader, Supply Chain Manager, Warehouse Lead and Warehouse Team, and other teammates to deliver exceptional service to both external customers and internal partners. Success in this position requires leading by example and consistently modeling strong leadership through effective communication, and a commitment to safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts and recounts, as well, as physical inventory counts, according to schedule.
• Research and reconcile inventory discrepancies — including quantity variances, misplaced items, and transaction errors – resolving issues when possible and communicating escalated or unresolved matters to the Branch Leader.
• Maintain and update inventory records in the Warehouse Management or ERP system (e.g., NetSuite).
• Conduct and assist with spot checks, bin audits, slotting reviews, and accuracy improvement initiatives.
• Ensure inventory areas are organized, properly labeled, and compliant with safety and housekeeping standards.
• Support tracking of slow-moving, obsolete, or damaged inventory in partnership with the Branch Leader and Supply Chain Manager, providing input and recommendations while primary ownership remains with Branch leadership.
• Support the Supply Chain Manager to prepare and maintain inventory reports, ensuring accuracy and timely distribution to Procurement, Warehouse Leadership, and Management as needed.
• Collaborate with warehouse lead and warehouse teammates to resolve issues related to receiving, shipping, put-away, and inventory transfers.
• Perform warehouse duties and support purchasing, receiving, invoicing, and other administrative tasks as needed and assigned.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment to protect employees and visitors.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Basic understanding of inventory control procedures and warehouse operations.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with ERP/WMS systems (NetSuite Preferred).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of inventory control experience, experience with computerized inventory control preferred.
• Forklift experience is preferred.
• Forklift certification or the ability to become certified (training provided by employer).
• Familiarity with the construction industry preferred.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
• This position requires the ability to travel to customers’ offices, job sites, industry and training events, and other Tenet locations as needed.
• Travel will primarily be by car, with occasional flights for longer distances.

• This role involves remaining in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for a significant portion of the day. Movement within the office or project site is required.
• Regularly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copier and printer.
• Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
