Title: Director of Sales and Marketing

Location: Brookings, SD

Salary: $75,000 - $100,000 DOE

What You’ll Do

This is not a traditional marketing role—this is a revenue-driving leadership position.

As Director of Sales and Marketing, you will lead membership and sponsorship growth through strategic outreach, relationship development, and integrated marketing efforts. You’ll connect with diverse audiences—ranging from business leaders to community stakeholders—using messaging and campaigns designed to move prospects from interest to commitment.

You’ll partner closely with the CEO, leadership team, and board to translate strategy into action and measurable revenue results.

Key Responsibilities

Sales, Membership & Sponsorship Growth

  • Lead all membership sales and sponsorship development efforts
  • Design and execute scalable membership tiers and multi-year models
  • Develop and close revenue-generating sponsorship opportunities
  • Actively sell, present, and build relationships with businesses and stakeholders
  • Track and report on key metrics including revenue, retention, and acquisition
  • Create and maintain a strong engagement cadence with members and prospects

  Marketing Strategy & Campaign Execution

  • Develop and execute integrated marketing strategies and campaigns that directly support membership growth, sponsorship revenue, and organizational visibility
  • Translate organizational goals into targeted messaging, materials, and outreach that move audiences from awareness to engagement and commitment
  • Lead multi-channel marketing efforts, ensuring the right message reaches the right audience at the right time
  • Maintain consistent, high-quality branding and communications across all platforms

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and develop a team responsible for marketing and membership engagement
  • Foster a results-driven, collaborative, and accountable team environment
  • Partner with internal leaders to align marketing and sales efforts across the organization Manage departmental budget and resources to maximize impact

What You Bring  

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field
  • 5–7+ years of experience in sales, marketing, or relationship-driven roles
  • Proven ability to generate revenue, close deals, or grow accounts (e.g., memberships, sponsorships, partnerships, or services)
  • Experience developing and executing campaigns that drive measurable results
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to think strategically while also executing day-to-day priorities
  • Comfortable working across multiple audiences and adjusting messaging and approach accordingly
  • Experience with CRM systems, marketing tools, or membership platforms preferred

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Primarily Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
  • Occasional evenings and weekends for events or meetings

Salary Range: $75,000 - $100,000 depending on experience and qualifications
