Junior Accountant
Job Summary
The Junior Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting functions of the Accounting & Finance team under the direct supervision of the Senior Accountant. This role assists with transactional processing, account reconciliations, and financial reporting in a manner that ensures accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards. This is a mandatory in-person role based in the Lee’s Summit office.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes under the direction of the Senior Accountant
- Prepare and post journal entries with accuracy and appropriate supporting documentation
- Perform account reconciliations and assist in maintaining general ledger accuracy
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely manner
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules as directed
- Maintain organized and complete financial records and documentation in accordance with company policy
- Support audit preparation by gathering and organizing required documentation
- Adhere to internal controls and company accounting policies at all times
- Attend and actively participate in daily in-office collaboration with the accounting team; this role requires full-time, in-person attendance at the Lee’s Summit office and is not eligible for remote work
- Valid Drivers License
- Reliable transportation

Required Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle)
- Previous internship or accounting work experience
- Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or progress towards certification)
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements
