Yates Company, LLC is seeking an Installation Foreman to oversees construction execution ensuring projects are completed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule, constantly monitoring to identify success risks and implementing corrective measures.
This position requires a strong balance of technical expertise, field coordination, documentation discipline, and professional communication to support efficient project delivery and long-term customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage team to all pertinent safety guidelines including the use of PPE and Lock Out / Tag Out.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise onsite functions (scheduling, engineering, material control/ordering) to ensure project proceeds within scope of contract.
- Review project schedules to make decisions concerning project, staffing, and equipment requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments.
- Secure proper documentation / authorization for contract change orders and extra work.
- Interface frequently with primes, subcontractors, and suppliers to stay abreast of progress and maintain key relationships.
- Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production challenges.
- Interview and make hiring decisions for project staff.
- Manage the performance and development of foremen, laborers, and other staff for the installation team.
- Order selected materials and schedule delivery as needed.
- Track, analyze, and manage productivity and quality to assigned projects.
- Prepare and submit timesheet reports, per diem requests, and other management reports.
- Layout project from a set of plans.
- Put work in place as required.
- Attend to administrative tasks for personnel including appraisals, disciplinary actions, time off etc.
- Mentor team personnel to career growth and team building.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Seven or more years of electrical construction experience with some experience on a large commercial project.
- Two or more years in a supervisory / foreman role providing guidance and direction to less senior crew members.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Supervisory experience on a large commercial project.
Working Environment
Work is performed in primarily commercial, industrial, institutional buildings, or other construction areas including outdoors environments with constant exposure to noise, dust, fumes, noxious odors, gases, mechanical and electrical hazards, metal shavings, moving objects, sharp edges, and temperature extremes.
Physical Demands
- Sitting and using a computer for several hours per day.
- Standing for up to four (4) hours per day.
- Lifting and / or exerting of force up to 20 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds constantly.
- Frequent and repeated hand and arm movement to manipulate tools and related objects.
- Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds individually, and team lifting heavier items.
- Frequent walking, bending, and squatting for extended periods of time.
- Frequent climbing of steps and in/out/onto vehicles.
- Regularly bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, reaching, and crouching.
- Frequent work on ladders, in lifts, and on structures at elevated heights.
- Visual acuity to drive motor vehicles.
- Hearing capacity to receive, perceive, and reach to common driving and working environment noises.
- Constant use of personal protective equipment (PPE) necessary for working safely.
