We're seeking a Junior Construction Scheduler to join our Project Controls & Processes Division. Reporting directly to the Project Controls Manager, this role will support the development, maintenance, and analysis of project schedules throughout the lifecycle of our heavy civil construction projects. What You'll Do
- Support the development of preliminary project schedules during the preconstruction phase to meet bid requirements.
- Assist project teams in creating and maintaining master project schedules prior to project kickoff.
- Utilize the Critical Path Method (CPM) to identify project milestones, dependencies, and schedule risks.
- Monitor project progress and update schedules based on real-time field information.
- Prepare and distribute schedule reports, including:
- Look-ahead schedules
- Progress updates
- Variance analyses
- Perform schedule impact and "what-if" analyses to evaluate potential delays and recommend solutions.
- Coordinate labor, equipment, and material availability with project teams to support schedule objectives.
- Participate in project scheduling meetings and communicate schedule updates to stakeholders.
- Assist with schedule documentation related to change orders, delay notices, and claims analysis.
- Maintain accurate project scheduling records and documentation.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred. Relevant construction experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 0–3 years of experience in construction scheduling, project engineering, project controls, or a related construction role.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with scheduling software such as Oracle Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
- Understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling principles.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional project teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) concepts.
- Experience with cloud-based construction management platforms such as Procore or Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- Internship or project experience in heavy civil, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure construction.
