Business Development Manager

Salary TBD - Depending on experience - Base Range $85K - $110K
Job Summary
The role is responsible for driving business growth through a consultative, solution-based sales approach. This position builds and expands client relationships by deeply understanding customer needs, aligning them with the company’s suite of services, and delivering high-quality solutions. The role also leads cross-functional collaboration, manages internal teams, and supports strategic sales and marketing initiatives to achieve revenue goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply a solution-selling approach to identify client business needs and recommend appropriate products and services.
- Develop a deep understanding of client operations, challenges, and goals to position the company as a trusted advisor and long-term partner.
- Identify, pursue, and onboard new clients while strengthening and expanding existing customer relationships.
- Present pricing, proposals, and product offerings to clients; negotiate contracts and close sales.
- Collaborate with internal micro teams to define project scope, develop work plans, and assign responsibilities.
- Lead, motivate, and manage micro teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
- Partner across the company’s umbrella of businesses to deliver integrated, solution-based offerings.
- Consult with vendors, partners, and third parties to identify optimal project solutions and cost efficiencies.
- Evaluate business opportunities by assessing risks, potential value, and strategic fit.
- Develop and execute sales goals and ensure targets are achieved.
- Plan and oversee new marketing initiatives in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Prepare and deliver professional presentations, sales materials, and PowerPoint decks.
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients regarding new products, services, and company developments.
- Represent the company at conferences, client meetings, and industry events.
- Support team development by training personnel and mentoring team members to build skills and performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of successful sales experience within the industrial construction market.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability and creative thinking.
- In-depth knowledge of the industrial construction industry and market trends.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities successfully.
Travel Requirements
- Up to 50% travel (preferred).
Physical Requirements
- Frequently walk, climb stairs and ladders, and maintain balance on varied surfaces.
- Frequently use hands and fingers to handle, operate, and manipulate objects.
- Frequently reach and perform light physical tasks.
- Constantly communicate verbally and visually; must be able to see, hear, and speak effectively.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment & Safety Conditions
- This position is primarily office-based but requires regular visits to active construction sites.
- During site visits, the employee may be required to traverse uneven terrain and climb ladders.
- Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) when on job sites, including hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, and high-visibility vest.
- Required to follow all company safety policies and procedures and be familiar with safety equipment prior to entering construction sites.
Equipment, Tools & Vehicles
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for construction site visits.
- Company vehicle usage may include a light truck or passenger vehicle.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required to operate company vehicles.
