LL Pelling is looking for local Class A or B CDL truck drivers to haul asphalt and rock with a manual transmission dump truck. This is a seasonal position that typically works from April to November each year. Drivers may work days or nights, depending on the project, and more than 50 hours each week. 

Responsibilities

  • Drive a manual transmission dump truck or mini-flow into construction job sites, rock quarries, and asphalt plants. 
  • Load and unload materials which may include asphalt, rock, and millings.
  • Tarp loads using a hand crank.
  • Scrape and clean the end of the box from asphalt after every load.
  • Keep truck in clean and orderly condition.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Class A or B commercial driver's license with insurable driving record
  • Airbrake endorsement
  • Current medical card
  • Can drive a manual transmission truck
  • Regular, dependable attendance
  • Able to work in all outside weather conditions
  • Able to work overtime: 50+ hours per week
  • Able to work overnight shift and weekends as necessary
  • Able to frequently climb in and out of truck using 3 points of contact to tarp loads and manually clean box
  • Able to use hands to safely operate a dump truck, hand crank, and hand tools
  • Able to sit for extended periods of time 
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
