Job Summary
NEBCO is looking for a high performing, effective, and dynamic leader to join our executive team. This CIO position is responsible for ensuring and overseeing the use of modern technology and software to support the needs and streamline processes for business operations for all NEBCO affiliated companies. Includes managing and implementing technology needs, collaborating and communicating with executive and leadership team, establishing relationships with technology companies and overseeing the IT department. Must abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely. This is an in-office role where on-site physical presence is essential to provide executive leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following. 

Collaborates with the executive team and company leaders to define processes and ensure technology strategy aligns with the business goals and objectives.

Proactively identifies and drives modern innovation to current operations, while balancing the reactive requests of NEBCO’s multiple lines of businesses.

Oversees the technological infrastructure, such as networks and computer systems, to ensure optimal performance.

Works with IT staff to develop and implement IT department strategies and processes that align and support company-wide goals. Includes creating and implementing IT policies, standards, and protocols and communicating company wide.

Oversees contract negotiations with IT vendors, contractors, and providers to ensure scope of service and/or equipment is cost effective. Manages all IT key vendor relationships. Communicates with executive team regarding value, costs, and risk potential.

Creates and manages the annual IT operational budget and reviews department and project costs with the Chief Financial Officer to organize investment prioritization and evaluate financial effectiveness.

Directs and plans the implementation of new systems and IT projects, provides guidance to IT professionals and other staff within the organization.

Manages compliance and risk management ensuring the organization adheres to legal, regulatory, and industry-specific security standards.

Manages IT department ensuring satisfactory team and individual performance, efficient daily operations, and training, coaching, recruiting and hiring personnel as needed.

Oversees cybersecurity strategy with initiatives to secure the organization's information, cyber, and technology assets; implements and manages cyber governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) process.

Develops and implements secure processes and systems used to prevent, detect, mitigate, and recover from cyberattacks.

Monitors changes with technologies and emerging technologies that may improve company-wide or department performance and processes.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Information Systems Management, Computer Information Systems, or related IT degree; and
  • 10 years of experience Information Technology, including management of IT teams; or
  • an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • CISM, CISSP, CGEIT, PMP or other related accredited certifications preferred.

Other Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of management, computer technology and IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Strong background in developing and implementing IT and ERP systems.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of data administration and management.
  • Experience in evaluating Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) metrics in both the IT department and overall financial statement review.
