Our rapidly growing company seeks an eager and hard-working professional to join our team as a BAS Project Engineer II/III (depending on experience).

This position is ideal for an engineer looking for experience/exposure to building systems with a balance of responsibility of control system hardware, programming, and end-user graphic development.

The incumbent is responsible for support and production of all technical aspects of the project with primary duties associated with submittal design, programming, and graphics. This includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • Control schematics
  • Wiring diagrams
  • Sequences of operations
  • Equipment schedules (valves, dampers, etc.)
  • All necessary reports (Bill of materials, point lists, etc.)
  • Individual equipment programming
  • Software database structure
  • Equipment parameter setup
  • Equipment user interface graphics
  • Floorplan user interface graphics
  • Third party integration (TPI)
  • Completion of engineering checklists
  • Engineering cost reporting and estimate generation per design
  • Remote checkout/commissioning

Additional responsibilities include the following:

  • Peer review of colleague work product including written feedback
  • Provide service project support including consultation, engineering design and remote support

The incumbent will communicate directly with internal team members, end-user customers, contractors, and/or outside engineering consultants to clarify, and confirm, project requirements, and otherwise ensure the project is fully implemented.

Specific responsibilities for this position include:

  • Use engineering department or customer design standards to generate project control drawings/submittals to meet project requirements
  • Ability to read and understand project specifications and MEP drawing sets
  • Select materials including control modules, field devices, dampers, valves and other required devices to meet the project requirements
  • Provide bill of material reports for all project required materials to the project manager
  • Utilize engineering department or customer standards as needed to ensure efficient design practices
  • Simulate programming to ensure conformance to specified sequences of operation and in accordance with industry standards
  • Determine and document, on the submittal drawings, proper operating ranges for field devices
  • Complete each assigned project focusing on customer satisfaction and specification compliance while meeting project budgetary constraints and communicating deficiencies accurately, and in a timely manner

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS:

  • College degree preferred
  • Engineering degree with 3–6 years relevant building automation systems (BAS) industry experience

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge/direct design experience with Carrier i-Vu or Automated Logic (ALC) products and tools highly preferred
  • Prior experience in HVAC design preferred
  • Knowledge in DDC control theory and applications pertaining to the HVAC/Control preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Experience with engineering design programs such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Visio, etc.
  • Knowledge of computer networking systems
  • Proficient with Microsoft software products

 Working Environment:

Work is performed in a primarily office environment with routine use of office equipment and prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

 Physical Demands:

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
  • Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
  • Remain in a sitting position at a desk for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent and repeated hand and arm movement to manipulate objects.
  • Frequent lifting up to ten pounds individually, and team lifting heavier items.
