Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range: $24-$32/ per hour

Position Summary

The Plumbing Mechanic is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems on commercial construction projects. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship, safety, and customer satisfaction.

A Journeyman Plumber License is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair commercial plumbing systems
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documents
  • Coordinate work activities with other trades on multi-craft construction sites
  • Deliver professional, high-quality workmanship on all assignments
  • Use tools, equipment, and materials safely and effectively

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions immediately
  • Participate in safety meetings and promote safe work practices
  • Maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment

Problem Solving & Coordination

  • Identify issues, discrepancies, or potential project concerns and communicate them promptly
  • Assist in developing solutions to jobsite challenges
  • Escalate complex issues to Lead Mechanics or Foremen when appropriate
  • Prepare tools, materials, and equipment for daily work activities
  • Help ensure materials are stored, protected, and utilized efficiently

Communication & Teamwork

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with supervisors and team members
  • Follow instructions accurately and seek clarification when needed
  • Support a positive, collaborative jobsite culture
  • Contribute to team success through cooperation, accountability, and professionalism

Qualifications

  • Several years of plumbing experience in commercial or industrial construction environments
  • Journeyman Plumber License preferred but not required
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, installation methods, and repair practices
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Dependable, safety-focused, and self-motivated
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to successfully pass a post-offer drug screen and applicable background checks
  • Commitment to company policies, procedures, and safety standards

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This is a hands-on position performed in commercial construction environments.

Physical and environmental requirements may include:

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and reaching
  • Lifting, carrying, and moving materials and equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Travel to job sites, including occasional extended driving time
  • Exposure to construction materials, tools, equipment, and active jobsite conditions
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
