About the Role

We’re hiring an Asphalt Plant Mechanic - Electrical to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on asphalt plants and asphalt related equipment. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems while ensuring the proper mechanical functioning of plant equipment and machinery across limestone, sand/gravel, and asphalt operations.

What You’ll Do

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical systems (e.g., conveyors, motors, drives, controls, circuit boards, and VFDs).
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues using tools such as multimeters and other diagnostic equipment, including 3-phase motor control systems.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, including inspection, lubrication, cleaning, adjustment, and replacement of worn or defective parts (e.g., belts, filters, motors, wiring, and components).
  • Install electrical power supply wiring and conduit for new and existing equipment, ensuring compliance with electrical safety procedures.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, repair manuals, and technical documentation to support maintenance and repair activities.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, hoists, and cranes to dismantle, repair, and reassemble equipment as needed.
  • Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to document work orders, maintenance activities, and equipment history.
  • Execute daily operational and business fundamentals and perform additional duties as assigned to support production needs.
  • Perform routine inspections and report any potential equipment issues or hazards promptly.
  • Maintain regular in‑person attendance
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of standing.   
  • Must be able to safely access and navigate the facility, including climbing and descending ladders in various weather conditions.      
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, or up to 100 pounds with assistance.    
  • The position will require work outside of normal business hours.     

What You Bring

  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety procedures, operating manuals, and maintenance documentation.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.  
  • Strong interpersonal, customer-service, math, and computer skills.  
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person and on the phone. 
  • Team player, with the ability to build positive relationships. 
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
