Due to continued growth, we are looking to add a Fire Systems Inspector to our Indianapolis, IN, team. In this role, you will perform regular inspections, testing, service, and preventive maintenance on fire alarm, sprinkler, and related life safety systems across a variety of commercial, industrial, and residential properties. Success in this role requires technical knowledge of fire safety systems, strong attention to detail, a commitment to code compliance, and a customer-first approach to every interaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure customers are serviced at the highest level of satisfaction through quality, courteous service, and by applying experience, knowledge, training, and great communication.
- Thoroughly complete inspections in a timely manner as scheduled and interface with the Inspection Coordinator to ensure that the customer receives the work per proposed scope.
- Utilize an online scheduling system to receive and understand individual scheduled tasks, customer locations, and maintain other company documents as required (timesheets, safety audits, etc.).
- Maintain positive customer relationships and review inspection results with the customer.
- Turn in required paperwork at the completion of each work order.
- Use phone, computers, and tablets to process daily inspection reports.
- Provide detailed feedback on deficiencies and necessary repairs.
- Maintain equipment, supplies, and company vehicle in good working order.
- Stay current with code requirements, industry changes, and obtain NICET certifications.
- Desire to cross-train and learn other life safety fields including sprinkler systems and special hazards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 years of experience testing fire alarm and sprinkler systems required.
- Good verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
- Mechanical and math aptitude.
- Exceptional computer and Apple iOS skills.
- Professional, organized, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Valid Indiana Driver's License required.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Physical ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Industrial, commercial, and residential building environments with moderate to high noise levels.
- Comfort with working at heights, climbing ladders, operating lifts, and navigating stairs.
- Primarily a physically demanding role with the majority of daily activity involving standing and walking.
The wage for this role is $27.00 to $35.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
