Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and building plans, always applying site-specific safety protocols.
  • Safely use materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall; inspect work regularly for code compliance and safety assurance.
  • Expertly install cabinets and molding while using the correct safety equipment and techniques.
  • Assemble and fasten material to construct wood or metal framework, using bolts, nails, or screws.
  • Anchor and brace forms, structures, and frameworks safely using nails, bolts, anchor rods, steel cables, planks, wedges, and timbers.
  • Lay out projects and plan work zones, including strict adherence to fall protection and site safety measures.
  • Verify the accuracy of structures using levels and plumb bobs while maintaining safe practices in elevated or confined spaces.
  • Erect frameworks and lay subflooring, strictly complying with regulations for safe lifting and securing of materials.
  • Build stairs, partitions, and cabinet work; always ensure hand and power tool safety procedures are met.
  • Install moisture protection materials and flooring (hardwood, parquet, wood-strip-block) with correct use of safety gear, including hearing and respiratory protection as needed.
  • Fit and install prefabricated window frames, doors, trims, hardware, ensuring safe lifting and ergonomic work methods.
  • Construct forms and chutes for concrete pouring; verify all temporary structures comply with company safety policies.
  • Erect scaffolding and ladders safely, following OSHA safety guidelines and manufacturer's specifications.
  • Other duties as directed by the Superintendent and/or Supervisor, always working within established safety standards.

  • Outstanding hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and best practices
  • Adaptability to changing job site conditions and priorities
  • Familiarity with a variety of hand and power tools, along with their proper usage and safety protocols

Qualifications

  • Required:
    • 2-3 years prior carpentry experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Proven ability to interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
    • Physical ability to regularly climb, bend, stand, sit, walk, lift, kneel, push, pull, or crawl throughout the workday
    • Reliable hand-eye coordination for safe equipment/tool operation
    • Ability to work safely in all weather conditions and varying environments
    • Valid driver’s license
  • Preferred:
    • Experience on large commercial or industrial construction sites
    • Prior experience with emerging construction technologies
