Hunter Contracting is looking for a Director - Water/Wastewater. The Job Purpose is to plan, direct, manage and provide oversight to project teams. Assist in the management of key company initiatives to ensure company goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters. Roles, Duties, & Responsibilities:
• Promote a “safety first” culture and maintain high team performance standards.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Field Operations Manager to monitor project productivity, schedules, budgets, and progress.
• Assist with project staffing, work plans, personnel assignments, and scope delegation.
• Provide technical support and resolve project-related issues.
• Align projects with company objectives and communicate progress with senior management.
• Develop and implement mentoring programs for Project Managers and Project Engineers.
• Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities, maintaining client relationships, and securing new work.
• Attend client meetings and assist with SOQ preparation, interview strategies, and project presentations.
• Review project proposals, budgets, staffing needs, schedules, and resource allocations.
• Work closely with Preconstruction and Estimating teams during planning and GMP development.
• Conduct plan and site reviews to identify and resolve potential project conflicts.
• Assist in developing and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures.
• Review project status reports, job costs, schedules, and corrective action plans.
• Prepare reports for management, clients, and stakeholders.
• Support post-bid reviews, change orders, pay estimates, and project closeout activities.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct project performance evaluations and provide written assessments.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and vendors as needed.
• Assist with permits, submittals, purchase orders, invoices, and contract administration.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Work Qualifications:
- Knowledge of leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Knowledge of organizational operating practices or procedures.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in construction projects.
- Ability to look at flat drawings or pictures and understand how they would look as solid objects.
- Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Knowledgeable in construction equipment and governmental requirements.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, and drawings.
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Ability to follow oral and written directions, plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Must be willing to work long hours, some weekends, and a willingness to assume a high level of responsibility.
- Possesses a valid Drivers License with a clean driving record.
Education & Work Experience Guidelines:
- B.A. or B.S. Degree in Construction, Mechanical or Civil Engineering; AND,
- Minimum ten (10) years’ construction experience; AND,
- At least six (6) years’ experience in a supervisory role; OR,
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities as determined by the hiring manager.
