Internship – Estimating Track – Heavy Civil Construction

Gregory Construction is seeking motivated students to join our team as Estimating Interns. This internship provides hands-on experience working alongside our estimating and preconstruction teams to support the bidding process for heavy civil construction projects.

Gregory Construction specializes in heavy civil construction, including earthwork, underground utilities, concrete structures, and roadway construction. Our teams deliver high-quality infrastructure while emphasizing safety, integrity, and excellence.

This role is ideal for students interested in construction estimating, quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and preconstruction planning.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with quantity takeoffs from construction drawings and specifications
  • Support cost estimating for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
  • Help solicit and organize subcontractor and supplier quotes
  • Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents
  • Assist with preparing bid packages and estimate documentation
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and project handoffs when applicable
  • Learn estimating software and industry best practices

What We're Looking For

  • Students pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to read or learn construction drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Bluebeam or estimating software is a plus
  • Eagerness to learn and work in a collaborative environment
